21 Day Challenge…

Our 21 day challenge begins September 1, 2023.

III John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.”

Our overall goal to be get to and remain in a state where we are mentally, physically and spiritually able to effectively fulfill God’s will in our lives. A state where we can receive all that God has for us, and then turn around and pour back into the lives of the people God has placed in our orbit.

We are striving for balance in our lives.

By definition, balance an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady. It is a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.

Healthy Eating

We are going to achieve correct proportions of the areas below, so we can remain upright and steady in our walk with God.

The challenge will focus on 3 core areas daily:

– Eating Healthy

– Physical activity

– Daily devotion

If we are mindful of these 3 areas, we will strike a balance in our lives that positions us to achieve our goals.

It is important to understand when we have the proper balance, our whole life is affective.

Physical Activity

– We are more confident,

– We are more assertive,

– We are more humble,

– And we seek to achieve more.

The challenge will require you to plan a healthy meal daily, take 20-30 minutes daily of physical activity, and to spend 20-30 minutes daily in devotion to and with God. I would even encourage you to increase the time to at least 1 hour daily with God, but for the purposes of the challenge we only ask for 20-30 minutes.

Spend time with God

That’s it – the complete challenge.

I will share daily posts with examples of healthy recipes, and some ideas on physical activity and daily devotion.

I invite you to share your thoughts, concerns, failures and triumphs throughout the journey. We will strengthen and encourage one another.

Take this time to plan ahead so we can all be prepared on day 1.

Have a blessed day.

Prayer Challenge… Day 5

We made it to the final day of the challenge.

I don’t know about you but my heart feels lighter and I have enjoyed my time with the Lord.

Just a small update- on day 4 I put the goal and prayer for day 5 – spiritual discernment. If you didn’t catch the mixup, that’s okay. Spending time with God is it’s own reward. If you did catch it, I appreciate your grace towards me.

The prayer goal for today will actually be the one that for day 4 – Spiritual Blindness.

However, below is the details of Day 5 with its scripture…

Day 5 – Pray for spiritual discernment. Pray for discernment between what is of God and what is of man. Pray for discernment of the spirit of God and the spirit of error. 1John 4:1-3, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

Prayer Challenge… Day 4

Welcome to day 4 of our prayer challenge. One more day left of the challenge after today. I pray that God has been revealing himself to you and you have been feeling closer to him.

Today’s prayer goal is to pray for discernment.

Day 4 – Pray that the eyes of the spiritually blind may be opened. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Prayer Challenge… Day 1

Today is the first day of our prayer challenge. Our prayer goal for the day was to pray for ourselves.

It may seem strange to start with ourselves – but the scriptures says that charity starts at home first, then spreads abroad (1 Timothy 5:8). And honestly, when it comes to prayer we are more inclined to pray for our needs first.

Our needs are usually the things that weigh heavily on our hearts and minds. So we want to start there, to jump that hurdle. Then we can focus our prayers elsewhere as we move through the remainder of the prayer week.

Here are a couple of prayers that might be helpful:

Health…

Self control…

Enjoy your time in the Lord.

Sunday Blessings…

Hello OTP family!!

It has been a a little been a little while since I was able to post anything. I have been having some technical difficulties. I was not able to post a couple videos, but I am back.

I feel a pressing in the spirit to have intercessory prayer.

There is so much going on in the world. No matter what side of an issue you fall, we can all agree that prayer is necessary.

The Bible tells us:

– Men should always pray and not faint (Luke 18:1).

– Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

– Pray for one another. Our prayers are powerful (James 5:16).

– Pray for all men (1 Timothy 2:1).

How Do We Pray?

The Lord’s Prayer is the perfect example.

Matthew 6:9-13, “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

This can been seen as a “prayer outline” on how to structure our prayers.

– We start with acknowledging God, and worship (Matthew 6:9)

– We then pray for God’s will to be done – in our life, the lives of our loved ones, our situation, the world, etc. (Matthew 6:10).

– We then ask God to meet our needs – our daily bread (Matthew 6:11).

– We the repent and ask for forgiveness and express our willingness to forgive others Matthew 6:12).

– We then ask for God’s guidance and protection. And we conclude with praise (Matthew 6:14).
