No More Excuses…

Romans 2:1, “Therefore thou are inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for where in thou judgestanother, thou condemnest theyself; for thou that judgest doestthe same things.”

Galatians 3:24, “Wherefore the las was out schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”

2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God. A workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

I was at a church service on this past Sunday. My husband and I decided to visit another ministry. Normally, when we do this, we have a wonderful time in the Lord. We enjoy worshiping with a body of believers. There is something extra special about being apart of a worship service on one accord – glory be to God!

However, at this particular service things seemed to go sideways from the beginning. There was someone who testified (just prior to opening prayer) that she had been practicing witchcraft all week because she was afraid that someone was after her. This was never addressed by the person leading prayer, nor was it addressed by the Pastor or ministerial staff. It was ignored as if it never happened.

During the preaching, the Pastor went on a rant about who is called to preach and who is not. He talked against looking and acting like the world, and how we should instead be the salt of the earth, and to let our light shine bright. This was good until he made it seem that ministries that are successful (larger congregations) are wrong because the church should not be liked or well accepted by the world. The Pastor inferred that small membership churches are better as they preach against sin, and to live lives that are holy and acceptable to God.

Then during prayer at the end of service, the same lady who confessed to doing witchcraft for a week was allowed to go around and pray with people.

This (and so much more) grieved our spirit. If it were not for the fact that the exit was at the front of the church (behind the pulpit), we would have left the service. One would have to walk past the Pastor as he was preaching to exit. This would have been just as wrong as some of the other things that occurred during the service.

But God did allow me to realize something – no matter what is said over the pulpit or done by church leadership, we still have the bible.  God requires us to read and ask for understanding for ourselves, and not to just depend on others for our spiritual stability. It is called the responsibility of salvation. 2 Timothy 2:15, tells us to study the word for ourselves. God tells us if any man lack wisdom to ask God who gives to all men liberally (James 1:5). Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise. The bottom line – there is no excuse to miss the mark because we have the bible and should read (study to know) for ourselves.

You will not always understand everything you read in the bible. But you should study. To properly study, you will need to run references, conduct research, and to pray and asked God for understanding. God is faithful. He will allow you to come into understanding about the issue. This may be received through listening to preaching, attending bible study, meditating on the word, or via revelation from God. The scripture tells us that (2 Peter 1:20-21) that no prophesy of scripture comes from someone’s own private interpretation. But is should be established, supportedand confirmed from the Bible itself. The bible will not contradict itself. It does explain and expand on information provide in other areas of the bible.

In these confusing times we should run to church, not away from it. But you must make sure the place you attend is indeed teaching the truth. If you are not sure, ask God in prayer. He will reveal his will to you.

However, before you judge someone else, make sure that you are right. Otherwise, you just condemn yourself (Romans 2:1).

It is a faith walk – the just shall live by his faith. Faith comes by hearing (any applying) the word of God. This is exercise. We hear the word, apply it by faith – walk it out in our daily lives. It is a never-ending cycle because we are constantly learning something from the bible. Or at least we should be. So, when you hear something over the pulpit or in bible class or from TV, TikTok, or whatever source, we need to search the scripture for ourselves. If what we heard is not supported by the word, shake the dust of that word from off your feet and keep moving.

We do not verbally attack the messenger, but we pray for them and their congregation. Prayer changes things. We allow our sovereign God to address the issue and provide correction as he sees fit. Our duty is to pray and make sure we do not get caught up in the fallacy.

Matthew 26:41 ESV, “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Have a blessed day.

What Do You Call Yourself?

Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he; eat and drink, saith he to the but his heart is not with thee.”

Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

The I AM factor

God is the great I AM. He told Moses, that is who he is (Exodus 3:14). He tells us he is our all in all. He is forever in a present tense because he does not have to wait to evolve or become a thing. He is always exactly what you need. He is the Great I AM! He is an ever-present help in a time of trouble (Psalms 46:1). In trouble, we need help RIGHT NOW. There is no time for God to evolve or become what we need. He already is exactly that. Most times we do not fully know what we need, but God does. He is there to be just that.

The I AM factor pulls from that idea. Whatever we need, God is. Conversely, whatever we say we are, we become (or remain). Whatever we say we have is just what we receive or strive for. Why? Because of the I AM factor. Whatever you say is looking for you because you have the “Great I AM” dwelling within you. If you say I have peace, then peace is looking for you. Wherever you go, whatever situation you face, by speaking peace, peace is looking for you. You can walk in peace. Every room I enter, peace comes in with me.

Proverbs 18:21, reminds us that the power of life and death is in out tongue. What we speak matters! I remember Donald Lawrence singing about this and it has finally resonated with me.

If you say “I am poor” then poor is looking for you. The spirit of Lack is looking to oppress your life. You will have plenty of days where “not enough” is the theme until you change what you speak. Speaking a thing enough will cause your mind to act because it believes what you say. Have you ever met someone who told a specific lie enough that they began to believe that lie as the truth? That is the same principle. Their mind began to believe what their mouth spoke so often.

We must know the scriptures and stand on this by faith. You must remind yourself who God made you to be and speak that. Deuteronomy 28:13, tells us we are the head and not the tail, we are above only, and not beneath. But you must know who God says you are. Once you know, then change your confession. Speak by faith the things God says about you. Then you will begin to prepare yourself to walk in abundance, because “poor” will no longer be your confession.

Let me just interject here, the things we say as ‘just joking’ counts. Your mouth is only speaking what is in your heart. Even in jest, you should not want to call yourself anything other than how God sees you. This is how you train yourself to believe God over your own negative thoughts. Respect yourself enough to stand with God, not against your own best interests.

What do you call yourself?

With this in mind, take a moment to consider your most private and intimate thoughts.

We are quick to guard how we allow people to speak to us. We will stand up against disrespect and take swift action to protect ourselves against anyone who would attempt to belittle. But are you guarding yourself from the thoughts you think about yourself? Those private thoughts that we don’t even recognize for what they are but can do far more damage that we realize. Are you quick to squash out disrespectful thoughts regarding who you are that sneak into your mind?

Are you full of negative self-thoughts?

-Do you privately believe you are not healed?

-Do you think you will never get out of this or be free from that?

-Do you doubt God is able to do what he promised in the Bible?

-Or have you talked yourself out of taking steps to drive change?

Remember faith without works is dead, and the just must live by faith. You still need to confirm your belief and holy confession by taking steps by faith. For example, if you think God is going to change your financial position, then you must seek to learn changes you can make. If you make poor decisions on how you spend the money God places in your hands each pay, then take a quick course on financial responsibility. It will change the way you seek your money, thus impacting the way you spend or allocate it. Whatever you are asking God for is going to require you to put some work to it. As you take a step, God will do his part. If you are unwilling to back your faith up with action – as they say “put your money where your mouth is” then you cannot get made if you do not receive what you say.

The enemy is on his job – arranging circumstances that would interject thoughts of doubt, and sow seeds of discontent and unbelief.

Our job is to combat this with a mind that is stayed on Jesus (the word, a praise/prayer on our hearts, etc.). We meditate (think on) the word, and on the goodness of God. I would even pepper these efforts with fasting. Once we have our minds guarded, then we concentrate on adding our own positive confessions to combat the distorted thoughts inspired by the enemy.

Daily positive affirmations are a perfect tool to use in this battle.

No one knows the thoughts you constantly battle better than you. Take some time to sit down and compile a list of lies the enemy wants to you believe and embrace. Then find scriptures that directly contradict these lies. Each morning, during your morning routine to get ready for the day, say this list of affirmations to yourself. During the day, as those thoughts would try to invade, repeat the affirmations by faith. Just as Jesus battled the enemy with the word in Matthew 4, when he was led by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil, we must be prepared to do the same.

Success in this arena will lead to a better view of your own self-worth. You will begin to see yourself the way God sees you. This will impact the private thoughts you think of yourself.

It’s time to get in line with the word of God, so you know how God sees you, and you can view yourself the same way. That is what you should call yourself.

Have a blessed day.

Tuesday Encouragement…

Hebrews 13:5 ESV, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Even when the going is tough and rough, or you are feeling like you are in the battle alone. Or you feel like no one knows or cares about your situation. Understand that God knows all about you and he has never left you alone.

Don’t allow your minds to get muddled in the struggle of this daily life. You are only where you are because God knows you are strong enough to make it through.

Don’t focus on your lack or the things you don’t have. Rather think on or remind yourself of all that you do have. Then take a deep breath and relax – in the presence of the Lord.

God is intimately involved in your right now. He is with you in the heat of your right now – whatever that is. Relax in him. He has your back, your front, your left and right sides. Trust in him.

The presence of the Lord is here!

You can be content in where you are right now because God is with you. Allow yourself to be free. And rejoice in the great God we serve.

Have a great day.

Bearing Fruit & Increasing…

1 Corinthians 13:12, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

Have you ever been at the place where you are just marking time or marching in place spiritually? A place where you understand your gifting and calling, but the road to take for the next phase of your journey seems clouded? A place where you seem to be waiting on God to reveal what’s next?

God is awesome and amazing and forever faithful. He cannot deny his word. Whatever he has spoken he will bring it to pass. We must always remember this.

A lot of times we get in our emotions and expect God to recognize our sincerity because of them. But this is a false idea. God is only moved by 1 thing – our faith in his word.

This great big God of love that we serve is looking for those that are standing upon his word by faith. He is drawn to those that fight the enemy of their soul (Satan) by faith in his word. Just as Jesus did, after he had fasted 40 day/nights, when he was taken up to be tempted by this same enemy.

Jesus victoriously used holy scripture as his weapon against the enemy. As he is our perfect example, we must do the same.

Colossians 1:6 ESV, “which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you.

Right now we only have partial/limited vision of God’s plan for our lives. However, this glimpse from God is enough to sustain us. It is sufficient to not only get started on our purpose, but to also thrive and achieve.

1 Corinthians reminds us that God knows us. He has greatly invested in us. He has given us his spirit, his word, and his love. He has given us everything we need to be effective. It is our job to receive the instructions (that partial or limited vision) by faith and run with it. As we walk this thing out in faith God tweaks the vision as we go providing some clarity along the way. It is still not the full vision. Honestly, if it was there would be no need for faith. And as the scripture says repeated “ the just shall live by his faith.”

The more we operate in faith – standing on the word of God – the more we bear fruit and increase. We will touch the lives of the people that God has called us to. Conversely, when we are too afraid to step out on faith, people are adversely impacted . Romans 8 tells us that the people are waiting for us to take our place.

Sometimes we question our own fruit. Or if we are being effective. But do not allow yourself to get caught on that hamster wheel. As you are operating in your gift/calling look around. Are people being blessed by your work? If the answer is yes, then you are bearing fruit. It may not look how you have imagined, but we must align our definition of success or effectiveness with God’s. Change your perspective.

It is at this point in our walk that we must keep going. Not give into insecurity. Most definitely keep seeking God to make sure we are operating as he wills. Make changes, corrections, and updates as he leads. Do not let other people dictate how you should proceed. If God brought you this far he can and will take you all the way. This is how we increase.

Remember God knows you and chose you for the work. You may not see in yourself what he did, but trust the God who called you. Keep taking those tiny steps forward and before you know it you will have made it farther than you could ever imagine.

Bear fruit & increase. Have a blessed night!

Equipment Check (combat ready)…

Ephesians 6:10-18, noted here is verses 14-17, “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

Hello OTP family, please enjoy today’s Sunday morning message with Pastor Kyle Adams. Sr.,

– Be strong in the Lord. Remember who He is and put on that same mindset. “let this mind be you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).

– Dress for success. Must put on the whole armor of God.

– Understand the enemy studies your “tapes” to discover your weaknesses.

– Understand just who you are fighting. We are fighting spiritual wickedness in high places. We are not fighting flesh and blood.

– Evil days! We are living in evil days. A day when anything could happen. The armor protects us from any/every thing.

– We must watch and pray and be prepared!

Make sure you are fully dressed! Have a blessed day and a great week ahead.

You Are Stronger Than You Think.

Matthew 4:1-11

OTP Family, today I want to share the morning message from Pastor Kyle Adams.

Remember in those times when you are feeling weak and are looking for someone to help you, know that you are stronger than you think.

Temptation: enticement to act against the will of God.

We all face temptation and challenges to our faith. After all, even Jesus was tempted by Satan. But we must do just as Jesus did. We must know the word of God and skillfully use it to fight the enemy.

In these last days, we need to fight like we have lost our mind. Hold back no punches.

We must:

– Pray without ceasing (1Thessalonians).

– Study to show self approved unto God, (2 Timothy).

– Understand that somethings only come out through fasting and praying (Matthew 17:21).

– Let the weak say I’m strong (Joel 3:10).

It is time to get ourselves together. It is time to fight the good fight of faith.

We must fight as if our life depends on it.

The Challenges of Faith

2 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV), But thanks be unto God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.”

(KJV) “Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in very place.”

Let’s start today’s conversation with some helpful definitions.

Triumph: a great victory or achievement.

Savour (fragrance): a characteristic taste or flavor, or smell, especially a pleasant one.

Faith: Complete trust pr confidence in someone (God) or something.

Challenge: (noun) a call to take part in a contest or competition. An objection or query as to the truth of something often with an implicit demand for proof.

Right now, I am dealing with several situations in my life that requires constant faith. Why? Because there is something that I can see with my eyes that are in direct conflict to that which I am trusting God for.

It is amazing that these all seem to happen just after I shared my testimony of healing a few weeks back.

This is just how the enemy tries to attack. It is as if the enemy says, “you want to tell people of God’s healing? Then here is something else to deal with.”  No worries. I choose to continue to trust God and to tell of his wonderous works at every opportunity I have. And I expect to soon share the testimony of these victories too!

The bible contains 39 versus about the just shall live by faith. The bibles also says to every man is dealt a measure of faith (Romans 12:3).  What an awesome God we serve that he gives us exactly what we need for every battle we face – Faith!

What is faith according to the scripture?

Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

When we walk by faith (and not by sight), we are basically applying our faith to our situation. Our faith fills in the gap in place of the thing we need. If we need healing, our faith fills the gap or the hole that is left by sickness. Because faith fills the hole, we are made whole. It may not be evident right now (seen with the natural eye), but it is evident through our faith. Our healing has substance because we trust God and will only speak of the thing that as done. We see through the eyes of faith a completed work. We still feel the pain. But we refuse to let the pain win. In the presence of pain, we acknowledge that God is still in control, and we speak our miracle by faith. We do this continually, until that time when we realize that the miracle has already happened, now manifested to everyone can see and glorify God.

We must trust God to meet us on the other side.

This is an individual and personal challenge that every believer must undertake. This is the way we are to live our lives – daily. We walk by faith continuously.

Everything we do, say, or believe is driven by our faith. Our faith is based – has as its foundation – the work of God. We believe the bible and stand upon it by faith. We then apply those biblical principles to our daily lives.

Yes, this is a challenge. Why? Because we are constantly seeing or hearing things that would want to dispute or alter what the bible says. People will try to explain away or interpret scripture to suit their belief or lifestyle. They will try to change God to fit them rather than repenting and living a life that pleases God.

Additionally, every day we must deal with out own doubts and insecurities. We do not always guard our ears, eyes, and heart. We are not selective about what we watch or listen to on television or the internet. We have ignorantly opened ourselves to battle spirits we have allow in because of these things. It is our own actions that makes this faith walk more challenging than it needs to be.

Because of this we find ourselves sounding like the world. Talking of being woke, wanting good vibes and energy. Some even go as far as burning sage in their homes, etc. We have allowed ourselves to become confused about who we are and whose we are. When it comes to a victorious life, we should talk of faith and faith alone.

But God is faithful. He changes not. His word is sure, and his word is true, and has always been so.

We just need to get back to basics. We need to get back to the word of God. Doing so brings us to a place where we always triumph in Christ. God is faithful, he cannot deny himself (2 Timothy 2:13).

-There are so many evil influences that are at our fingertips right inside the phone in our hands. We must exercise spiritual discipline to refuse to access places that would lead us away from God.

-We must make extra effort to assemble ourselves together and attend church services. There are internet and online options, and these are great. But there is something about worshiping together with other believers. Unity. We learn and draw strength from one another.

-Choose wisely who we keep company with. They say birds of a feather flock together for a reason.

These are all challenges to our faith that we can correct or avoid without much effort al all.

We must decide to choose God over everything else.

Have a blessed day friends.

Testimony Monday…

2 Corinthians 1:20, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”

Hey OTP family! I wanted to share a quick testimony to the healing power of God.

It is a long and involved story, but the bottom line is the Orthopedic specialist said I had close to bone on bone in both knees and would eventually need knee replacements. I had the knee pain in both knees to confirm their diagnosis was probably accurate. But I did not want surgery.

I began to seek God. I asked all those who know the word of prayer to pray with me. I fasted and stood firmly on the word of God (I am still standing on the word). But I also sought other methods to control or eliminate the pain. I felt like the woman with the issue of blood. I tried everything I could think of. Including weight loss.

The Lord helped with learning how to eat healthy and exercise. I found natural supplements too. I am happy to report I am currently 30 pounds lighter (to God, be the glory!).

Some may say where is the miracle? But if you have ever struggled with weight, sickness, or a poor diet, then you understand it is not easy to make changes. It is always a battle. You have to get in the scriptures and search them. Then stand on the same word day and night.

You have to combat the opinions of doctors and all the medication they want to prescribe that does not heal, it only masks the issue so it is bearable. You have to battle you own doubts because they creep in about 100 times a day. Even on the days when it seems you are doing well.

It is truly a faith battle that takes years sometimes to overcome.

But God is faithful! I am walking in my healing! It is a blessing to wake up daily without pain. It is a blessing not to need pain medication. It is awesome not to face surgery. God is a healer, God is a miracle worker. Because of him I am a new person. I don’t think the way I used to regarding my health and diet. Only God can change a person’s way of thinking!

It is funny how my healing crept upon me. It was several weeks before I noticed it was not in pain. That I had no swelling in my joints and I could walk pain free. Then I had to sit and think back to when was the last time I felt the pain and discomfort. It was then I realized just what God has done!

Today I just wanted to thank God for what he has done. I want to help someone else with this testimony.

Don’t give up – you are about to walk in your miraculous healing. God is going to change your perspective. Hey will make you new too.

Not only did God do it for my husband in 2010, he has done it for me too in 2024.

I share our testimony of healing in Our Journey in my book. It is a short read, but it has a powerful blessing.

God bless you all and I pray God’s miraculous blessings upon you.

Pentecost Sunday…

Pentecost is a Christian holiday that commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, following the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. The word “Pentecost” comes from the Greek word pentekoste, which means “fiftieth”. The holiday is celebrated on the seventh Sunday after Easter, which is 50 days after Easter. Because the date depends on the date of Easter, Pentecost is a moveable feast.

This is a day of celebration commemorating the promise Jesus gave regarding the comforter (Holy Ghost). Acts 2:1-4, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

The dispensation of grace and truth was ushered in. Peter preached the message regarding the plan of salvation (Acts2:38). The Holy Ghost dwelling on the inside of his people. The temple veil was rent and we can now come boldly to God for ourselves. We have a personal relationship with God – a spiritual walk where the foundation is based on the word of God, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone.

A faith walk, where we must endure to the end. He that endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 23:13).

Celebrate and Partake.

We give praise to God for this awesome gift. We appreciate his great sacrifice, ultimate show of love, and triumphant resurrection that was accomplished at Calvary’s Cross. The tomb that Joseph of Arimathea provided is called a borrowed tomb because Jesus only needed it for a short while. He arose on the 3rd day, which is the true purpose of Easter. It is because of his resurrection and ascension back up to glory facilitated the release of the comforter or Holy Ghost fall to earth.

This awesome miracle occurred on Pentecost day.

How do we partake? We follow the instructions that Peter gave as he preached to all those who witnessed, Acts 2-15-16, “For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”

The Holy Ghost is essential to make it in the world today. It is not optional for the believer. It is that same getting up power to help us become and stay rapture ready.

If you are not already a member of a church ministry that is biblically sound and based. I encourage you to locate one and join yourself to it. A ministry which preaches and teaches the doctrine of Jesus Christ – the way, the truth, and the light. Salvation is our goal. Then we walk by faith according the Word of God. We strive to endure to the end.

What a blessed life it is. Happy Pentecost Sunday!

That’s Not How The Story Ends!

Judges 16:21-30

Sampson killed more Philistines in his death than he did in is life.

This Sunday morning Pastor Adams shares the message…

– The enemy is plotting against you to find your weaknesses.

– Arrogance lead to his downfall.

Lessons to learn:

– Keep your own secrets. See 1 Thessalonians 4:11.

– Don’t play with the devil. He’s been at the game longer than you. See Ephesians 4:27.

– Your fall is not the end of your story.

– In your failure see God. Repent and learn from your past. Seek God because this is not the end of your story.

Sampson’s hair began to grow again. You can get back into place. Lean on God. Accomplish what God has called you to.

Don’t stop writing your story!
