Encourage Yourself

1 Samuel 30:6

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”

Not very often will you have people in your corner. And at times, those who you thought you could depend on to be there will turn their backs on you. But you have to be settled in your spirit on the things God has spoken to you, said about you, and called you to do/accomplish for the kingdom.

Encourage yourself. Stand boldly on the word of God, the promise of God, and move forward without fear.

Remember, it’s not about you or how you feel. But it’s God, and what he has ordained to be. Do not allow people to prevent the plan of God from coming to fruition in your life.

No more excuses. Encourage yourself. Move forward.

Lord, Direct Me

Proverbs 3:7-8

“7. Be not wise in thine own eyes:

fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

8. It shall be health to thy navel,

and marrow to thy bones.”

Have you ever felt this way….

“Sometimes I am just too smart for my own good. I know a lot, yes. But Lord, you know it all. Please direct me – I need you! ”

The solution is easy…

It’s time to move out of your own way and let God work it out. All details are included when he is involved.

Always Time for Family

Ephesians 5:25

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

Colossians 3:19-21

19. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

20. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

21. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.”

We live in a time where everyone is busy. Even  when we are together we seem to be separated because we are too busy being lost on our electronic devices. We cannot afford to take family for granted.

A happy family does not just happen. It is cultivated by a husband and wife who take time for each other. Who enjoy spending time together. Who refuse to allow anyone or anything come between then. It is cultivated by parents who take time to raise their children in love.

This requires spending time with your children talking to them, listening to them, and getting to know them. Most importantly, being an example for them – in front of them. Family time is important, and it is God ordained.

How can we cultivate a happy marriage if we don’t make time for one another? How can we show our children what a happy, and respectful marriage looks like if we don’t cultivate it in front of them?

Single parent families may have more challenging circumstances, but their duty is just as important. It is not an impossible task. Many do it successfully every day.

As husbands and wives, or single parents, the best we can do is make time for the ones you love. Keep the word of God as your relationship guide, and you can’t go wrong.

We only fail when we neglect to make time for family, and/or leave God out of the process.

All We Need Is Love

Romans 12:21

“21. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Don’t waste your mental energy trying to figure out why people act the way they do, or even do the things they do. Just concentrate on showing love to everyone you come in contact with.

There has always been loud voices filled with hate. Our goal is to let the love of God put them to silence.

Share love, speak love, do what loves does.

Increase your faith, and walk in it. Abolish fear, and the baggage that came along with it.

Love is the only effective weapon against evil. Let’s use it wisely.

The Power of Prayer

James 5:13-18

13. Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16.Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”

There is power in prayer, but the world needs people who are willing to stand in the gap and interceded for the nation.

Are you willing to be an instrument of prayer to effect change that is so desperately needed?Or is your goal to spread fear with no real solution?

We live in perilous times, but God is still the same. He is the only answer.

I encourage you to pray – it is a powerful weapon. It works.

***be blessed by the word and have a great Sunday.

Food for Thought…

1Peter 4:17-18

“17. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

18. And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

Food for preparation…

Matthew 6:6

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

God Has My Back

Isaiah 59:19

“So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”

I encourage you today, do not allowed the enemy to make you feel desperate. The bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 2:11, that we are not ignorant of the enemy’s devices.

Rather than fall into traps we are familiar with, endeavor to stand on the word and fight the good fight of faith. God has your back. Let the word of God do the work. Your job is to use the word as a sword to fight the enemy. Do not lie still and allow the enemy to run over you – to do as he please in the circumstances of your life.

The enemy does fear the name if the Lord. We just have to make sure we use that name as instructed in the word. In your obedience, God will lift up a standard against your enemy – every time.

God has your back!!

*** I pray you are blessed by the word. As always your comments are welcome.
