Change The Game

Galatians 5:16

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. ”

If you are struggling with issues such as infidelity, jealousy, trying to out do someone, anger, envy, or control, then it is time to change the narrative of your life.

Understand that all of the is within your power to change. And it can be done right now. It is as simple as changing how you walk.

Now I say simple, because the instruction is easy. However, the challenge is in the follow through. This simple answer goes against your natural instinct. But by being consistent in the follow through you will find that you are no longer struggling with these types of things at all. Or at the very least, you do not struggle with them to the degree you were previously. (We all fall a little some time – but key is getting back up Quickly).

That simple answer to the problem? Walk in the spirit! The benefit to this is that by doing so you will no want to fulfill the list of the flesh. The things are otherwise know as Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings.

What is walking in the spirit? It is simply, allowing God to lead you in every aspect of your life. Reacting to outside stimulants, situations and circumstances in a way the lines up with the word of God.

This sounds like a huge ask, and down right impossible to achieve. It may also sound like it removes the ‘fun’ out of life. This is not so, but it is a lie that the enemy has sown to keep us in bondage.

By walking in the Spirit you gain so much more: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:

I would rather have these things over any thing else every day of the week.

It is not to say by walking in the spirit you will never have issues (problems, trouble, illness) that attack you. However, by walking in the spirit, you have successfully changed the narrative of your life. You are now in a position to handle everything that comes your way, and in a positive manner. You can avoid pitfalls that use to ensnare you, receive healings and deliverance from “you” issues.

What is a “you” issue? These are the things that would cause you to say – this is just me, deal with it. No honey, that is a “you” issue and you need to be delivered from it. Let us stop trying to force people to live with and accept things. When the reality is we need to work on us a little more.

Change the game. Walk in the spirit and be free. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1.

Be blessed!

Transition to ‘Now’

Daniel is 4:37

“Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. ”

We all have a past. We all have had a time where we did not acknowledge Or even know God. We were living our life just to please ourselves. Doing everything thing we could find to do under the sun. But God has a way of waking us up, and causing us to bow a knee to him.

We call this transition by many names. I have heard ‘hitting bottom’, ‘God called my name’, ‘failure’, and ‘I tried everything, every thing failed so I tried God’. Call it what you may, the bottom line is God has a way to showing you who he is, and drawing your attention towards him.

Nothing that is good is achieved is done without God. There are many successful people who don’t know or acknowledge God. They achieve great success in their chosen field. Many may say they did it without God. But the truth is, just like Nebuchadnezzar, God’s blessing was upon them because the great tree of their success is there to provide sustenance for the people of God.

God is a master planner. He has a way of reigning in every heart that refuses to acknowledge him willingly. We see the fall and scandals of people everyday. God is doing what he has always done. Arranging things and situations where we run to him or fall. Nebuchadnezzar had the dream and Daniel gave him the interpretation. We call this a warning. But even with advance knowledge, Nebuchadnezzar never had the thought to change to avoid his fall. He thought his greatness would be enough protection.

But God is also faithful. He allowed Nebuchadnezzar to come back to his right mind. In Daniel 4:37, we see Nebuchadnezzar’s testimony, “Now, I praise and extol, and honor the King of heaven…” He says ‘now’ because prior to that he refused to do so. He believed that all he had accomplished was done on his own. He was glorying in his power as king. But God is the King of Kings. He will bring down every heart that is puffed up in pride. We all have been here at some time in the past.

We all have a ‘Now’ experience in our lives. We all have pasts and done foolish things. We have experienced failures and hopefully learned from them. Either way, we serve a God that transitioned us to ‘now’. And I am so glad he did. The alternative would be to continue in our foolishness, and miss heaven. Nothing is worth that.

Thank God for the Transition to ‘now’.

The Foundation for Blessings

Daniel 3:30

“Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon. ”

When it comes to success, there are no short cuts. We must do the work in order to reap the reward. In God, the work revolves around obedience. Your ability to obey God’s word will is your guarantee of success.

The word of God is our roadmap. It’s your playbook. We must jump into the word to find our way. We must meditate on the word. Sometimes the thing we must do to be blessed may not taste good to us, but it is always good for us. It is not easy to love and show love to the ones that have hurt us, betrayed us, and lied on us. But we must love them, bless them, and not curse them. This is the will of God.

In your obedience is your blessing.

Looking at the story of the 3 Hebrew boys, there are some things we know about God, that there should not be any need to consider an answer when it is brought into question. We know our God is a jealous God and will not allow us to worship another false god. For he is the only wise and true God. When the requirement of the King came to worship the false god he made of gold. The answer for them was easy. Obedience kicked in, and they obeyed God instead of man.

We must have the same attitude. Yes, your obedience may lead you to some hard consequences, but God is ever with us. In Daniel 3, obedience lead Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the fiery furnace. Your obedience may cause you to suffer loss, persecution, or ridicule. But just as God was in their situations, he is in yours too.

Your obedience will bring about your miracle.

You cannot get to the next level without obedience. Many are afraid to do the hard thing, or at least what we consider to be hard. No one ever said obedience is always easy. But is it ALWAYS right.

What has God spoken to you to do? What is he leading you to do? Instead of talking your self out of it because it does not make sense to you, just take a step of obedience and faith. Trust God and follow him to the end. Your blessing is on the other side of your obedience.

Don’t Forget Who You Are

Lest We Forget Who We Are…

Galatians 4:28

“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.”

To remember is to have in or be able to bring to one’s mind an awareness of (someone or something that one has seen, known, or experienced in the past).

Most of the enemy’s game plan is designed to get you so distracted by his deeds that we forget. We forget who we really are and who we serve. Why? Because knowing this will cause us to take advantage of the gifts, power, anointing, understanding, healing, etc. that comes along with being a child of God. We will take action. We will put some work with our faith and receive from God.

But when the enemy attacks us, afflicts us, causes people to come against us in every way imaginable, we tend to lose focus on this important fact. We are children of promise. God has invested in us and is routing for us (and helping us along the way).

We are built and equipped to withstand – period. We just have to remember that, and act accordingly.

Don’t allow to enemy to make you forget who you are. Stand up in the power God has given you and be great in Jesus name!

He Can Handle It

2 Timothy 1:12

“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”

God is way better that Allstate. They are quick to let you know you are in good hands with them. We serve a God who knows the secrets of your heart. He knows what you hold dear. And he can handle them all.

Most of the time we have to remember (or remind ourselves) just who God is. He is creator, protector, provider, deliverer, keeper, healer, and on and on. Once we remember who he is, then we must understand that he is able. He is able to bear everything that I commit to him. That thing is safe and secure.

Commit your heart and mind to him. He can handle it. Commit your gifts and talents to him. He knows how to try them and make them excellent. Give him your hurt and pain. He can take the power away from them to dictate your life. He will make you free. Commit yourself to him. He will give you wings of an eagle to soar high and bring Glory to his name. He can handle whatever you commit to him.

Be persuaded of his ability because you know him. Know him through his word. That precious word of God that provides the foundation of our life and is a light to show the way we should take.

Personally speaking, whenever things get tough and the enemy seems to be fighting more than ever; I remind myself. I know who I believed and I am convinced that God is able to keep the things that I have committed to him. It encourages me to keep fighting. Not to give up. I remind myself that God can handle it.

I choose to speak life, to speak victory. Even when the opposite seems easier or even true. Miraculously, God always seems to work every thing out for my good.

What a mighty God we serve!

My Thought Of The Day

1 Corinthians 13:8, 13

“8. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away

13. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”

A lot of things in life are shaky. Things you depend on break down or become unreliable. People you love may disappoint or let you down. Jobs and homes are lost. People May pass away from our lives. The list is endless.

One thing is certain, the love of God remains constant. It never fails, it never changes. We can depend on it. God’s love is always there to prove comfort and strength. It’s there to rebuke and correct. It’s there to provide provision of all types.

God’s love does not change when I am disobedient, act out, or outright fail him. It is always there. Knowing this gives me comfort and pushes me to do better, and be better.

My prayer is that this thought brings comfort to you too!

And They Fasted…

The purpose of fasting is to willingly snd humbly deny something of the flesh to glorify God, enhance our spirit, and go deeper in our prayer life. We fast gain deeper fellowship with God.

By definition, to fast is to abstain from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance.

Consecration is the action of making or declaring something, typically a church, sacred.

Growing up, the month of February was also know as “prayer and fasting” month. The church would focus corporately on seeking to draw closer to God. Each person would freely give up something they loved to do/eat and spend at least 1 full hour daily with God in prayer and reading the word of God. Turning our focus and attention to God.

This is a worthy tradition that has merit and great benefit to the body of Christ as a whole. Especially in the times we live in. It is necessary to do some self searching and do what we can to bring peace and love back to our lives. God has the answer that he will glad share with people who have a mind to hear and obey. We must get into the place where we can hear. That requires us to quiet every voice that is not God in our lives, so we can hear and receive from Him.

Take a moment to consider what sacrifice you are willing to make for God. What are you willing to give up for God for the month of February? Then consecrate time for the purpose of seeking God. The benefits you receive will greatly outweigh any sacrifice.

Testimony Thursday

Bringing the miraculous goodness of God from abstract knowledge to an inward witness/confirmation.

We are testify of God’s goodness. Sharing what he as done for us so others might be able to overcome what they are facing (Revelations 12:11).

My testimony:

I was told that I was facing bilateral knee replacements unless I made some changes. I was told that all the fluids that were supposed to be in my knees was almost gone and I was close to bone on bone. Sorry, I don’t know all the technical terminology.

I work in Short Term Disability so I have a lot of experience when people have this surgery. I was (still am) determined not to have to go this route. So the first thing I did was to go get a gym membership. I started out exercising 2-3 times per week. I had some slight improvement because I began to feel better. But I still had a lot of pain and inflammation. Not just in my knees but other joints as well.

So I began to seek a God about my healing and how to eat and be healthy. I was so specific in my prayers that I asked God to show me what foods to eat and which to avoid.

God is so good that be began to give me dreams about avoiding certain foods and food additives that I never even heard of. But it started me on the research kick. To find out which foods this particular additive was in (cellulose, just in case you wanted to know). The next thing God did was to encourage me to eat specific foods (root vegetables) and again I did research.

In obedience to God’s command today I do know have any knee joint pain and no longer suffer from inflammation in my joints. But most miraculously, I went to the doctor again and had updated X-ray on my knees and the fluid level in my knee has improved. I could actually see the space between my bones and feel so much better in my body.

I continue to seek God daily because I am expecting a total healing in my body from every ailment. What he has already done just encourages me even more to know that he will complete the work he has already begun in my body.

What is your testimony? Please feel free to share.

Be Patient – God’s Got This

Luke 22:19

“In your patience possess ye your souls.”

By definition, patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

We all have petitions before God. We have asked him for somethings. We serve a God who told us to ask so we can receive, to seek and we shall find, and to knock so the door can be opened (Matthew 7:7). The same God who parted the Red Sea, who healed the sick, raised the dead, and caused money to be found in the fishes mouth (Matthew 7:24-27), is the same God we serve. He is a way maker and miracle worker. So don’t sweat it. God’s got your back. Just be patient. He is working on your behalf.

Once you have made your petition, rest in Praise – be patient. Wait on God. Don’t give up, don’t give in. Know that your obedience has been noticed by God and your blessings are on the way.
