1 Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Philippians 3:13-14, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
If you are anything like me, you have those times in your life when you find it hard to forgive yourself. If you have failed at something or let yourself down in some way, it is easy to get stuck in the “I can’t believe it” rut.
You find yourself thinking, I can’t believe I did that, or I said that, or I let that happen to me – again. The list can go on and on. But the bottom line is you cannot change the past or live today trying to re-write history.
What you CAN do is repent, forgive yourself, and focus on doing better today.
The past is gone, and the future is ahead of us. The only thing you can impact is your today – your present. And a good present with make the way for a better future!!
So, with Philippians in mind, let’s check our F O C U S!!
The first step in clearing your focus, is to Forget (or let go of) the past. Many have fallen into the trap of being held hostage to their past. This can include success AND failures.
We need to learn from the past, but leave it there. The present is ever evolving. What May have worked then does not automatically translate into success in the future. But the lessons learned are always helpful. We need to allow God to reveal himself to us today. Matthew 6:11, say he is our daily bread. This means he provides us with daily sustenance. The provisions we need for our current circumstances
The second step is to overcome Obstacles. We star by identifying them. James 1:14-16, we are draw away and enticed by our own lusts. This means you know what piques your interest and can pull you away from purpose. You can also detect when things (or people) are working against what God is trying to accomplish in and through us.
Our duty or burden is to overcome them all. We are to take actions (make choice and decisions) that line up with our purpose. Some time this may entail severing relations or relocating to facilitate the promise.
The third step is to Create. Many times, we must create our own opportunities. We must creat our own product that provides a solution. We must finance and support our own vision. We must WORK!! We must renew our minds to see in ourselves what God sees. Romans 12:2 tells us that our mind must be renewed in order for us to be transformed. Our goal to to line up with God’s word. This can only be done with a renewed mind.
You body will follow what your mind believes. If you believe that you can’t, then you won’t. If you mind believes that you will never be healed, then you won’t. If your mind believes that you will never succeed or accomplish the call, then you won’t. BUT, if you can renew your mind, then you can!!
The final step is Ultimate Success! Proverbs 18:16 say that our gift will make room. Once you forget what is behind, identify and overcome your obstacles, and finally have your mind renewed, your are positioned for success.
You will find yourself in situations that you only dream of before. God will open doors and align circumstances to place you at the forefront of peoples mind. Will cause your name to be mentioned in circles you never thought possible.
But this takes focus!!
I encourage you to re-adjust your focus so that your goal is clear. Then do the work necessary to succeed.
Have a blessed day.

1 John 1:3, “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”
Have you ever woke up and felt so full, so happy and excited? Excited about just being alive, in your right mind, and glad that Jesus is on your side?
When you this happens it is a good time to share the good news – with everyone you come across!! Not to jump into a conversation and bombard people with scriptures, but to also (more importantly) to share the love of God. That same love that caused your excitement in the first place.
To share a smile. A kind word. To prefer your brother (we don’t always need to come first). You would be surprised how simple kindness (loving kindness) speaks more that any words you can say.
Sharing the good news also open doors that may have previously been closed to you.
The word of God is awesome! The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ.
Acts 3:6, “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”
We may not have a whole lot materially to give, but what we do have is more valuable that money. We have the answer to change a life, to deliver, to set free, that brings peace, and so much more.
Just as Peter and John was compelled to share the good news with the lame man on that day, we must allow God to move through us as well. We have to be willing vessels. We have to have a heart for people. We must be moved by compassion (love) to reach out to people. We cannot afford to shun people or to feel that anyone is beneath us, or not worthy of our time.
You would be surprised at the welcoming response that you receive we you are moved by God’s spirit to reach out to people. Most of the time you wonder what you were ever afraid of.
Regardless, it is God’s will that we be his witnesses. Acts 1:8, tells us that when the Holy Ghost comes (in dwelling), are given power to be witnesses of him.
1 John 1:5, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
Share Jesus, for his yolk is easy and his burden is light. He brings rest to the soul. His light shines into the darkness of our life and abolishes it, and brings peace.
So enjoy your excitement about this life. Be encouraged to allow that excitement to over flow on those around you.
2Peter 2:9, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:”
We will never know what we can accomplish if we refuse to get in the race and try! We will never know the impact we can have on someone’s life, until we decide to live and love according to God’s will – no matter what!
To try is to make an attempt or effort to do something.
Many time we will listen to our haters. People who want to keep you where you are. People who are afraid of your success. For (they believe) that will mean you will leave them, and they will be alone in their mess.
But what they don’t understand is the way God works. We serve a God who requires us to be our brother’s keeper. When we are strengthened, we grab our brother and strengthen them too (Luke 22:32).
But God would not have us to be ignorant of the plan of the enemy. There are people who willingly serve the enemy of our soul. Their purpose is to subvert the cause of Christ. To bring chaos and confusion to the lives of the believer.
For this reason, God has cautioned the church to:
1. Know those who labor amongst us (1 Thessalonians 5:12).
2. To know that everyone is not wheat, but tares is growing beside us (Matthew 13:27).
3. That there are wolves is sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15).
We are expected to recognize the difference through our ability to discern the difference between what is of God and what is of the devil (1John 4:1-5).
“I did not know” is not an excuse that will work for the follower of Christ!
God has placed in each of us a call, and anointing to accomplish his will for our lives. It is our duty to seek his face, to find out what our purpose is, then work to accomplish it.
But we all face challenges and temptations – things that are designed to pull us away from God. These are the things that appeal to us specifically. You can even say, these are snares that are designed with our name on it (James 1:4).
But God!! He ALWAYS provides us with away to escape from falling! (1 Corinthians 10:13).
So, even knowing the challenges and pitfalls- we must always work and move toward the direction in which God is pulling. Romans 8:19, tells us the world is waiting for us to take our place in Christ. People need you to be where you are called. We cannot afford to be turned around by the enemy.
In our scripture text, 2 Peter 2:9, God knows how to deliver you, and at the same time, reserve the unjust for judgement. By definition, an unjust person is someone who is unfair and not morally right. Sadly enough, there are people who have no desire to change, to know God, or to live righteously. But we must still pray for them, share God’s goodness with them, and show them love! We grow and prosper along side them, God will separate us in the end. Our goal is to work while it is day, and let God deal with the rest.
We must trust God to be God in our lives!
So, there is a comfort level there. We can stretch out on God, and pursue what he has placed in our hearts. No, everything you do may not be successful. But the only way you will know is by trying. If it is not successful, God is able to deliver and keep you.
Seek his face and keep trying! Be led by his spirit, and move. Occupy until he comes!
We are not an island all alone, but we are part of the body. Ephesians 4:16, we are all different parts, but we work together to accomplish God’s will. We must do our part for the cause of Christ! So, we must keep working, keep trying, our success is assured!!
Have a blessed day!
