The Missing Link…

1 Peter 1:15-16, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

I’m going to just let this sit here in your spirit!

This is what is missing today.

In the search to be free and “do you” and “live your best life” and “just let me be great” – I could go on and on… we lost something.

We lost the integral, essential, and beautiful aspect of this walk with Christ. We forgot about being holy.

Don’t get it twisted – holiness is not about the way a person dresses or places we cannot go, or things we cannot do. It is however, an attitude, a perspective, a way of thinking, a way of approaching our daily lives.

Jesus walked in holiness every day of his earthly ministry. Yet he was still living his best life – touching and changing the lives of everyone he came in contact with.

We are instructed by God to be Christ-like. We are admonished to be holy. But somewhere along the way we changed the definition of holiness and sometimes used it as a weapon against the very people we were trying to win to Christ.

So I encourage you take a good like at the life of Jesus in 4 gospels. Get to know Jesus. See what true holiness looks like and emulate that. The bottom line – without holiness, we will not see the Lord.

This is the missing link.

However, it does not have to stay that way. It is time to find our way back to holiness so we can, indeed, live our best life. The end result – seeing Jesus’ face in peace.

Have a blessed night!
