Jeremiah 1:12 NIV
“12. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”
We serve a faithful God. For what he said, he will do. He promised to never leave or forsake us. But ultimately we determine the extent to which God is able to move in our lives.
The Bible tells us to study to show thyself approved unto God. To hide the word in our hearts so we don’t sin agains him. To speak the word. To allow the word to be a lamp unto our fight and a light unto our pathways. The list is endless. So when God looks at us he wants to see his word in operation in our lives. This is an expectation of God for which there is no excuse for disobedience.
When we place our petitions before God, he is expecting to see his word. We are instructed to stand on the word by faith. Pray, proclaim, decree, and declare the word of God in our lives – walk in it all day, everyday. The word of God should be our everything.
God is looking for his word in operation in your life to move on your behalf.
My testimony – without going into a great deal of detail – We had a family emergency on Thursday evening. My husband had to go to the emergency room. They wanted to transfer him to a specialty hospital, because of his prior medical history. They told us he would be in the hospital for several days. We prayed the word of God, stood on it by faith, and God did exactly what we asked him to do. There was no transfer, every test came back negative and he was discharged.
We can and should ask God for whatever it is we need. But we must make sure our request is based on the word of God, and that we are standing on that word by faith.
To God be the glory for the things he has done.
