Looking For His Word

Jeremiah 1:12 NIV

“12. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”

We serve a faithful God. For what he said, he will do. He promised to never leave or forsake us. But ultimately we determine the extent to which God is able to move in our lives.

The Bible tells us to study to show thyself approved unto God. To hide the word in our hearts so we don’t sin agains him. To speak the word. To allow the word to be a lamp unto our fight and a light unto our pathways. The list is endless. So when God looks at us he wants to see his word in operation in our lives. This is an expectation of God for which there is no excuse for disobedience.

When we place our petitions before God, he is expecting to see his word. We are instructed to stand on the word by faith. Pray, proclaim, decree, and declare the word of God in our lives – walk in it all day, everyday. The word of God should be our everything.

God is looking for his word in operation in your life to move on your behalf.

My testimony – without going into a great deal of detail – We had a family emergency on Thursday evening. My husband had to go to the emergency room. They wanted to transfer him to a specialty hospital, because of his prior medical history. They told us he would be in the hospital for several days. We prayed the word of God, stood on it by faith, and God did exactly what we asked him to do. There was no transfer, every test came back negative and he was discharged.

We can and should ask God for whatever it is we need. But we must make sure our request is based on the word of God, and that we are standing on that word by faith.

To God be the glory for the things he has done.

Don’t Give into Fear and Anger

Joshua 6: 1-6 NIV

Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.

Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”

We live into a time of injustice. It looks as if right is wrong and wrong is right. It looks as if justice is not for all, and evil doers get away without punishment. But do not allow fear and anger cause you to make hasty decisions and ill advised actions. Rather push into God, and use praise as a weapon and a place of safety.

A memory is all it takes. Remember how God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt and out of the hand of Pharaoh. Remember how God delivered Black Americans from slavery and a corrupt government. Remember what it took to gain your freedom, it will also take to keep it. Fight the good fight of faith. Cry unto God and watch him deliver. Use praise as the mighty weapon that God created it to be. It can tear down walls and bring about the victory.

The body of Christ is not weak, nor are we doormats. However, our warfare is not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. It is effective. Do not allow fear and/or anger cloud your judgement. Rather, push into God through praise and watch him work. God did it for Joshua, and he will do it for us.

True Power

1 Corinthians 1:18

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

Some times we forget the bridge that brought us from darkness to light. But this is something we should never forget.

The Cross. It was violent and bloody but so very necessary for you and me.

Because of the cross, I live and love, and work tirelessly to share this same message to everyone I can.

We are in the Easter season where we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. I encourage you all to take the message of the cross beyond this weekend. Keep it in your heart always.

I Just Want To Thank You!

Psalms 100:4-5

“4. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

5. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

I woke up this morning with this song in my heart, “Lord, I Just want to thank, you were my food when I was hungry, water when I was thirsty, shelter in a time of storm, and I know you will keep me from harm. I want to thank you for being so good to me.”

I truly feel like the later part of verse 4, be thankful … I have been blessed in som many ways. More than I can accurately count and if I could, it would take more time than I have. But suffice it to say, is am blessed, I know it, and thank you God.

I want to encourage you on this morning to examine your self, your life, and in spite of the bad times, sad times, and hard times, I am sure you can find where God has been good. Then just simply tell God “thank you”.

Thank you goes a long way. We all love to hear it and to feel appreciated. So does God. Your “thank you” acknowledges God’s goodness, and expresses you understanding that you did not and could not have gotten to where you are alone. Further more your “thank you” is a request (or permission) for God to continue to work on your behalf.

You life may not be perfect, but God has not forsaken you (just as he promised). Your everyday may not have been problem free, but that is the nature of life. But rather, you survived, and can thrive, but you must have an attitude of gratitude.

Have a blessed day.

You Will Make It

Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Be encouraged and know that as long as God is directing your path, he has you where he needs you to be.

I know it sounds very cliche, but Your struggle will be a witness to others. It is working for your good. You are in it to win it.

Sometimes your “go through” is not all about you. God allows us to experience things just so we can testify of his goodness.

Be patient. Continue to wait on God and go through the process.

Have a blessed Saturday.

Trust God and Be Blessed

Proverbs 34:7-8

“7. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

Whoever has your trust, also has your heart. Make sure your heart is in good hands – trust God.

On What Are You Standing?

1Peter 1:25

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. ”

Every so often we must look down and check the foundation on which we stand. Are you standing on a sure foundation? Is your foundation the word of God? If not, you will find that your feet are slipping.

The Word of God is truth. It is the only solid foundation. Everything else will crumble, wither and fall away. The true foundation will stand true at all times. You can build upon it, and the building (if the Lord build it), will stand through any storm that rages against it.

However, if your foundation is not true, anything built upon will crumble and can be pulled down.

Many times people work from a foundation that reputation built, or that lies and deceit built. They try to stand or build from principles that are not grounded in the Word of God. These people may find success that is short lived and evil in its nature. Operating on the premise that what it took to get there, it will also take to remain there. Later, wanting to change the nature of the foundation from evil to good. This is impossible. The foundation must be good to experience true and lasting success and continued growth.

It is always good to check that on which we stand. If the foundation is not true, this is the perfect time to move. Lay the proper foundation (the Word of Truth), stand and build on that. Find and experience true and lasting success.

Have a blessed day!

I Shall Not Want…

Psalms 23:1

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. ”

It’s good to know that God is my provider. That he knows what it is that I need even before I do. That he makes moves in advance to give me what I need. It is even better to know that he is watching over me to make sure I do not stray to far away. What a Shephard!

That you God for being that ever present help in times of trouble and in times of peace. Thank you God for never leaving or forsaking me!! Thank you God for always having my back, my front and my sides!

Have a blessed day.
